Having collected images over the years, I became intrigued by the variety of emotions that a face could express. I wanted to paint in a quick and loose process emphasizing strokes of paint floating on felt as expressive as the emotion itself. I also chose colors that were optical in their relationship. As it turned out my experience came to the fore and the faces became more painterly.
