Ancestral Footprints 2024-2026

From the beginning of time, man moved from one location to another in order to survive. I visualized paths that our ancient ancestors made in difficult prehistoric migrations, moving across the globe, one land to another. “Pied à Terre” is a place to rest and to live. The human parade never ceases. We keep traveling for all kinds of reasons, a reminder of departed souls whose footprints are barely remembered in the struggle.  They haunt us.

Through maps, I exile myself to the other side of the world where, earthquakes and volcanoes, on the Pacific Ocean floor, teach us about uncertainty. I empathize with the people living on these fragments of land when disruptions are continual. I surrender, take brush and watercolor to seek beauty in chaos. Wisdom in pain soothes my soul.
