Demons & Sirens 1988

A collector who was opening a gallery in Detroit saw the Watershed figures and gave us a show at their new space. Raymon and I decided to expand our ideas to create a new body of work more overtly political and confrontational. Our technical issues in combining clay and steel were resolved and the figures became more visceral and threatening as well as poignant and haunting. We portrayed male demons and female sirens. (Some sirens were portrayed as victims as well.)
