Drive-in 1982

(Collaboration with Raymon Elozua)
Raymon Elozua was constructing in ceramics decaying structures of Americana. He suggested that we collaborate on a series of movie drive-ins. He would build the structure and I would paint the screen. We picked ‘relationships’ as a theme, choosing images from an initial beguiling romance to the burdens of family to the threats inherent in relationships. Needless to say, I viewed the work as a painting with a sculptural frame and Raymon viewed it as a sculpture containing a painting.
