After my mother passed away in Quebec, at age 85, I came back to Brooklyn to mourn. In September, the World Trade Towers were destroyed and now all New Yorkers and the world mourned as well. Four months later, Raymon and I were invited to St. Martin, in the Caribbean, to begin the new year among friends. While reflecting on the magnificent healing turquoise waters and skies, I conceived a small story, illustrated in watercolor, from the perspective of my ‘inner’ child. “The Ecstasy of Mishfish in St-Martin” is an expression of my gratitude for life and its fullness.
